Donel "Don" LaFevre

            Donel “Don” LaFevre, age 69, of Lenoir, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at his home.

            Don was born October 5, 1954 in Alexandria, Virginia, the son of the late Leland Merle LaFevre and Fannie Irene Fowler LaFevre.

            Don served proudly in the United States Navy, and worked as a HVAC technician for most of his working career and was of the Lutheran faith. He enjoyed fishing, traveling with his wife, and loved to cook. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his wife, Thesta LaFevre; a step-son, Timothy Michael Lail; a sister, Margaret Ann LaFevre Tygard.

            Those left to cherish and honor his memories include: his step-daughter-in-law, Sandy Lail of Taylorsville; his step-son, Joseph Marcus Lail (Kristi) of Taylorsville; his grandchildren, Jennifer “Jennie” Lail (Antwyne), Steven Sylvester Lail (Caroline); his great-grandchildren, Maya Mayes, Jaxon Lail, Mackenzie Icard; his sisters, Inanna LaFevre of California, Jan LaFevre of Las Vegas, Nevada; his brothers, Leland LaFevre of Durham, Phil LaFevre (Sandra Coffey) of Draco; his nieces, Lauren LaFevre, Hayley LaFevre; his great-nephew, Mason Harmon; and abundance of friends that turned family from Bourbon Street Alley and VFW Post 1957.

            The family will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 5 p.m., Sunday, April 21, 2024, at Hickory Station.
