David Michael Blackburn

            David Michael Blackburn, age 55, of Millers Creek, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.

            David was born September 16, 1970, in Wilkes County, the son of the late Jimmy Blackburn and Eloise Johnson Billings.

            David was a carpenter by trade for most of his working career and a member of Traphill Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on small motors, fishing, hunting, and camping. He also loved making knives.

            Including his parents, he was preceded in death by: his grandchild, Micheal Ian Prevette; his siblings, Darrell Blackburn, Carol Blackburn, Debbie Blackburn.

            Those left to cherish and honor David’s memories include: his fiancé, Mary Alice Urick; his children, Jessica Coe (Landon), Wesley Blackburn, Camron Prevette (Crystal), Haskel Barger (Kyle), Hallie Faw, Zipphora Blackburn, Slevin Urick, Zaliachi Urick, Olin Blackburn, Zori Blackburn, Zelika Blackburn; his grandchildren, Case Coe, Ella Coe, Liam Prevette, Jackson Prevette, Waylon Prevette, Brenden Trivette; his siblings, Terry Blackburn, Larry Billings, Gary Billings; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

            The family will conduct a Celebration of Life Service at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Traphill Baptist Church.
